RENE E. VILLA, EdD, LMHC
Rene Villa received his Bachelor' degree from the University of South Florida and his Master’s in Psychology from the University of New Brunswick in Canada. He went on to earn his Doctoral Degree in Education from Nova Southeastern University. A Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Dr. Villa has extensive experience treating patients with Developmental Disorders and specializes in alcohol and drug abuse and other emotional and medical disorders. He taught at Hillsborough Community College and the University of South Florida. He was the Director of the Outpatient Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services Program at the Neuropsychiatric Institute in the early 1990's. He has been a Clinical Administrator for BayCare Health Systems, developing and delivering a broad range of outpatient mental health and substance abuse services. Dr. Villa’s areas of counseling interests include individuals, couples, and families.
Dr. Villa is certified by the American Academy of Certified Addiction Specialists, and he is a Clinically Certified Forensic Counselor. He has been practicing as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor since 1992 and is bilingual in English and Spanish.
