Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Alexandra Maynard received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at Saint Mary’s College and obtained her Master’s in Counseling at Northwestern University. After graduating from her M.A degree program, Ms. Maynard worked as a Behavior Specialist collaborating with school representatives to identify concerns and treatment goals and facilitate transitions for patients in the child and adolescent programs. She facilitated psychoeducation groups for coping skill development. She went on to become a Community-Based Counselor, working with adult, group, individual, and family therapy.
She specializes in Exposure and Response Therapy, which is used for the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder and other complex anxiety disorders. Ms. Maynard’s approach to therapy is eclectic and primarily based on the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
Ms. Maynard is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and has been working in the Mental Health field since 2014.
