Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist
Dr. Hong received his bachelor's degree from The University of Memphis. He completed the medical doctorate degree in East Tennessee State University. At The University of South Florida, Dr. Hong did a 4-year combined internship and General Psychiatry residency. He continued post-graduate studies through Child & Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at USF. After fellowship training, Dr. Hong joined Tampa Bay Academy as a staff Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist. There, he cared for children in the Residential Treatment program and Therapeutic Group Homes program. He treated various psychiatric disorders there, but particularly developed clinical interests and treatment skills for ADHD and victims of trauma.
Dr. Hong later worked for BayCare Behavioral Health in several capacities. He performed inpatient psychiatric care for adults and children at the Morton Plant North Bay Recovery Center. He was the Medical Director who helped establish the BayCare Statewide Inpatient Psychiatric Program Residential Treatment program. He consulted to Morton Plant North Bay Hospital, St.Joseph's North Hospital, and the Mandala Department of Juvenile Justice program. He also provided outpatient care at the BayCare Children's Treatment Center.
Dr. Hong is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, in General Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. He is a staff member at St.Joseph's Main Hospital and St.Joseph's North Hospital. He is a member of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists, American Psychiatric Association, and American Medical Association. He has been in practice since 2002.
